Avocado hair masks for dry and damaged hair

Homemade Avocado hair masks recipes

1. Avocado and coconut oil

Ingredients
  • 1 avocado
  • 2–3 tbsp. coconut oil
Directions
  1. Mash the avocado in a bowl until it is free of lumps.
  2. Add two tablespoons of coconut oil to the mashed avocado and mix well.
  3. Apply this mixture to your hair and scalp. Ensure that you focus on the tips of your hair, as these are the oldest and most damaged parts.
  4. Once your hair is fully covered in the mixture, tie it into a bun and leave it or cover it with a shower cap, and wait for 20 minutes.
  5. Wash your hair with shampoo. Finish with conditioner.
How Often?

1-2 times a week.

2. Avocado, olive oil, and lemon juice

Ingredients
  • 1 avocado
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
Directions
  1. Mash the avocado, and mix in the olive oil and lemon juice.
  2. It’ll look like soupy guacamole.
  3. Apply this mixture to your hair and scalp from root to tip.
  4. Once your hair is fully covered in the mixture, tie it into a bun and leave it or cover it with a shower cap, and wait for 20 minutes.
  5. Wash your hair with shampoo. Finish with conditioner.

Note: Lemon is antifungal and may help reduce oil and dandruff.

3. Aloe and avocado

Ingredients
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 2 tbsp aloe vera gel (Fresh)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
Directions
  1. Combine all the ingredients until you get a smooth, lump-free mixture. You can use a mixer or mixie to make sure all the ingredients are blended well.
  2. Apply this mixture to your hair and scalp.
  3. Once your hair is fully covered in the mixture, cover it with a shower cap or tie it into a bun, and wait for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Wash your hair with shampoo. Finish with conditioner.
How Often?

Twice a month.

4. Banana and avocado

Ingredients
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1/2 Avocado
Directions
  1. Mash or blend the ingredients together.
  2. Apply this mixture to your hair and scalp from root to tip.
  3. Once your hair is fully covered in the mixture, tie it into a bun and leave it or cover it with a shower cap, and wait for 20 minutes.
  4. Wash your hair with shampoo. Finish with conditioner.

Note: Banana has high silica content, so it works to smooth hair and add shine.

5. Avocado, egg, and olive oil

Ingredients
  • 1/2 Avocado
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Olive oil
Directions
  1. Blend the ingredients together with a fork or spoon.
  2. Apply this mixture to your hair and scalp from root to tip.
  3. Once your hair is fully covered in the mixture, tie it into a bun and leave it or cover it with a shower cap, and wait for 20 minutes.
  4. Wash your hair with shampoo. Finish with conditioner.
How Often?

Once a month.

Note: In addition to the moisturizing benefits of avocado and olive oil, egg is rich in protein, which helps strengthen the hair.
