A very popular version involves cutting the flaky parottas into bite sized pieces and tossing them in tomato and chili sauces along with some veggies.
There are no hard and fast ‘rules’ to be followed for street foods like Chili Parotta. It is versatile, in the sense one can add ingredients be it spices or sauces according to one’s preference. A simple twist can transform the dish’s texture and flavor, making it unique.

Ingredients
Cooked parotta – 3
Oil – 2 tbsp
Garlic – 3 cloves, finely chopped
Ginger – 1 inch, finely chopped
Green chili – 2 , chopped
Curry leaves – 1 sprig
Onion – 1, cut into big pieces
Tomato – 2, cut into big pieces
Bell pepper – 1, cut into big pieces
Salt to taste
Chili powder – 2 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 1 tsp
Red chili sauce – 1 tbsp
Tomato ketchup – 2 tbsp
Coriander leaves, chopped
Directions
- firstly, cut 3 parotta into small bite size pieces. you can use fresh or leftover parotta.
- Heat a pan with some oil, add ginger, garlic, green chilies, curry leaves and mix well.
- Add onions, tomatoes, capsicums and stir fry it on high flame.
- Add the spice powders and salt and mix well.
- Saute them until onion softens and then add chili sauce and tomato ketchup.
- Add the parotta pieces and mix well.
- Fry the parotta pieces for about 5 mins Finally, garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it hot.
